I looked out the window and what did I see?
Popcorn popping on the apricot tree!
Today we decided to celebrate Spring
And decorate with POPCORN!
One of my favorite springtime children's songs is Popcorn Popping.
It is a song that talks about seeing an
apricot tree and thinking that it is popcorn.
First, we tried to put popcorn on a tree branch. (Didn't work)
Then, on a pipe cleaner. (Didn't work)
So finally we just decided to make a Popcorn Necklace.
It worked!
I used a dull needle and thread.
I threaded them on and she pulled the popcorn down the string.
I can take an armful and make a treat.
A popcorn ball that will smell so sweet.
With our leftover popcorn we made popcorn balls.
Yum!
It wasn't really so but it seemed to me.
Popcorn popping on the apricot tree!
How very sweet! I am glad to see a mommy who is setting up her children to be the very best learners in life! It truly starts young.

ReplyDeleteCute ideas! Going along with this theme, last year we popped popcorn and glued it onto a tree to look like the cherry tree in our backyard. It was a fun art project! Keep the great ideas coming!
ReplyDeleteHi! Thanks for stopping by my blog! As for thrift store sewing machines, I have bought two and it has been a bittersweet experience with both. My husband actually found them both (we're both thrift store addicts) and the first one he found was only $4 (1950s Singer)and when we tried it out at the store it seemed like it was only missing the throat plate. We bought it and got it tuned up and had the throat plate replaced. While it's the one I use the most, it definitely has its quirks. The second machine was bought just because it came with a sewing table that he bought for me. It's a 1970s Singer and I love it. Unfortunately it has plastic gears and one of them finally stripped out. I don't have the heart to find out what a replacement will cost so it's sitting in storage right now.
