A Spin on Quiet Time Boxes

Here is our new spin on Quiet Time Boxes:

Quiet Time Bags!

My Quiet Time Boxes have been one of
the best things I have done to reduce some mommy stress!
Now everyday nap time is about 90% less stressful.
M. is motivated to go down and play with her daily box,
and she usually takes a nap every day too!

Some days, when we have a lot to do,
I just pull out a few fun books,
she will read them and then take a nap.

Before we had Quiet Time Boxes, she would have NEVER done this!  Taking a nap used to be like pulling teeth!

So I am switching out my old boxes,
and doing some new themes.
{They should be ready by next week!!}

I found these great bags at our Dollar Store
Three large bags come in one box.
Pretty good deal.

So while I'm swapping out I will use these in the mean time.
But that got me thinking,
I could have done this all along,

I could have labeled each bag a day of the week,
And only bought one bin.
{Way more cost effective}
And dumped the bag into the bin each day...

So in the mean time,
until I change out my old boxes,
my pretty little Quiet Time Bags are hanging nicely in the closet.
I was way to much work to assemble them,
to not keep them intact...

If you want to make your own Quiet Time Boxes,
check out my original post about them.

Yay! I was featured at Delicate Construction!
Isn't it the cutest button?

Merci Beaucoup!

  1. Your Quiet Time Bags are a great idea! They would be wonderful for traveling, too! I featured your post at the Living Montessori Now Facebook page and pinned it to my Traveling With Kids Pinterest board at http://pinterest.com/debchitwood/traveling-with-kids/

  2. I have 3 yr old triplets that are transitioning out of naptime. I love your hanging quiet bags! That may be a great solution for us!

  3. Love this idea! When I used to rock the youngest to sleep every day I'd give his sister something "quiet" to do at the table by herself. This would have saved me having to go through the boxes of stuff I had to find something she hadn't done that week. Now that the little one no longer wants to nap, I might just have to do something like this for both of them. Bet it will keep him in his room better than just his toys!

  4. What a great idea. We do "busy bins" however I never thought to utilize them for nap. My little one is starting to transition out of napping and this may be my life saver :)

  21. I love this! Especially that the 'Quiet Box' can be taken anywhere to keep the kids amused, we do a lot of sitting in waiting rooms and having these prepacked would be a sanity saver. Thank you for the great ideas!

  24. I am loving this idea! I definitely need to make these busy bags/boxes for my toddlers. I surely need that down time during the day to recharge myself while the little man is napping and the little miss is awake.
